[You want to know what kind of sleep you had? Quite frankly, it doesn't matter, not when it's interrupted by the sound of a cuckoo clock. When you're awake enough to look over and see what woke you up, you can see a small bear figurine popping in and out o- wait, what? It suddenly occurs to you that this isn't at all where you went to sleep last night.

But...it's nice enough. It's a wooden cabin, and seems to have been decorated with neat matching furniture. Your rather small bed is flanked by the cuckoo clock, and which for the life of you, you can't figure out how to shut off...which doesn't matter much when it stops a few moments later regardless. The time reads 7 AM, which might very well be far too early for your tastes.

When you actually start to look around a bit, you may or may not find one personal object on a nearby dresser, but more importantly, you might eventually notice is a small device somewhere on your person. If you can figure out how to work it, pressing the screen will reveal a profile containing information about yourself, and scrolling down reveals several different ones for strangers. It only serves to raise more and more questions - just what is is going on?

Suddenly, without warning, a screeching sound interrupts the last of whatever peace you might have had, and a voice blares out throughout the entire camp:]

Rise and shine, campers! Please make your way to the Mess Hall by 8 AM sharp!

[There's another screeching sound, and...music begins to play. It's not loud enough to drown out your speaking, but it's annoying, especially when you take into consideration that it doesn't stop playing. Ever. It just keeps repeating. Background music! It seems to be coming from the loudspeaker in the middle of the camp, and does generally get quieter the further you move from in. In addition, you'll find that the music seems to disappear entirely when you enter some buildings - such as the Theater and the previously-mentioned mess hall.

Speaking of which? When you finally exit your cabin, you'll find your feet meeting a cobblestone path - and down this path are more and more cabins. Going beyond the path, you'll find that nearly all the ground in the area is grassy, but luckily, there are a few dirt paths here and there to help you get to where you need to go. If you ignore the oddities, like the giant stone walls that surround the camp or the constantly-burning bonfire? It's almost kind of serene.

The sun is shining, and it's a lovely day for camping. It's time to mix and mingle.]

[ What's one supposed to do when one is awake in a place one doesn't remember? Mac looks around bewildered. It was a relatively nice wooden cabin but Mac's appreciation for that was in an all-time low. While he was still trying to understand what was going on a voice resounded through the air]

Campers? I haven't signed up for no campin'.

[ Muttering to oneself isn't going to lead to any answers, so going outside is the way to go. Much to his relief the door isn't locked so he's able to open it and take a peek outside, at the row of cabins in front of him. His own was almost at the end of one.

If somebody passed near there they'd see a short young man peering from the door like a distrustful animal. But unlike a distrustful animal he'll try to make contact with anybody he sees. Hopefully his Bronx accent doesn't give you any trouble! Luckily for the other side of the fourth wall, written accents aren't as much of a problem. ]

'ey. Over here! Mind tellin' me how I got here?

[Ashley raises an eyebrow, before her glance narrows. What follows is said as flatly as ever:]

That's what I'm trying to find out, Brooklyn.

[aaaawwww snap jabs at his accent]

[ Ouch, don't insult the accent, that hurts. Although he wants to reply in a way that wouldn't exactly lead to a friendly discussion, he lets it go for more important matters. Mac could feel frustration starting to well up in him]

Sounds like you haven' found anythin' so far. Tell me there are at least other people around and it's not only us two.

[ Trapped with her in an empty camp with nobody else around miles? Doesn't sound fun]

Forget what I said, that's obvious. That voice earlier belonged to somebody.

I saw another girl before. She wasn't helpful either.

[GENIUS OBSERVATION, MAC BABY. You're going to get a completely deadpan look for the rest of the conversation.]

I assume you didn't find that thing on you.

[Whooops, leave it up to him to look like a dimwit as the first impression. It's just nervousness, right? Surely when he has stopped wondering what's going on he won't be like this, right?]

That thing? Oh yea', I found that thing. Sure was a thing.

[And then, after making it real obvious he didn't know what she was talking about and wanted to change topics, he stepped out of the cabin]

The leas' I can do is take a walk around, find what's in the camp. Find the Mess Hall...wherever that is. I have never been a campin' guy.

[Ashley is...not interested at all. In the slightest. In fact, pretty much all of Mac's hospitality is spit right back at him in the form of straight-up sarcasm.]

[The sarcasm isn't overlooked. He notices it and damn, it hurts the pride to have a girl that looks younger than him and with a stuffed rabbit talking to him like he was an idiot]

Yeah, I will. I'll just...find out what's goin' on. See ya.

[And then he walks away quickly, berating himself for the horribly awkward short conversation. He was in a strange place and had already done a bad impression on somebody. That usually doesn't lead to easy times.

He's willing to talk to her later but he'll make sure to prepare himself and choose his words carefully. Anything for future conversations to not to be the mess that just happened]

[Mac is huge, compared to Callie. She is both a teenager and an Inkling, which does not help with the height thing. She isn't sure of what Mac even is, he definitely doesn't look like an Inkling, so she decides to find out.]

I guess you just suddenly woke up in this place too, huh? No real answers, not even from the little booklet-thing.

[Somebody shorter than him! And doesn't look to be a child, that's something he doesn't see everyday]

[After a quick look around he found a device in his pocket, turning it on and finding a photo and information of him. Neat, his boxing abilities are praised]

Huh, strange thing. It's me.

[Mac hasn't noticed the girl in front of him wasn't exactly human, but he can feel there's something odd about her. Noticing he can scroll down he finds a photo that seems to fit her, finding a quirk he shows her]

[That's authentic enthusiasm, idols are great. Also, hearing she's squid-themed reveals just what he felt was strange about her. ]

I like your hair. They look exactly like tentacles! Is it a hassle to get it ready e'eryday?

It was at first, but by now I'very got it to a science. But it's weird, I woke up with it like this, like I had gone to sleep without taking it down.

We're supposed to go to the Mess Room later but I'd rather to find where this music is coming from and turn it off. It's startin' to bother me.

I've been to camp before, so I can guess: there must be a broadcast room somewhere, probably near where the counselors stay. That's how they do announcements and stuff.

[He is right, though, the music is a total drag. Callie wants to take over the mic and sing her own tune, if only because her music is way better than what is playing right now.]

Where the counselors stay, got it. Shouldn't be too hard to find it, the camp doesn't seem large

[Mac looks around as if he expected an huge sign saying that's where the broadcast room is. As nothing is found before he starts walking on the stone path towards the rest of the camp he tries to get Callie's attention. Company would be nice]

You could sin' somethin' in there! What type of music does your band play?

[Oh hey Bronx accent, meet southern/country warm apple pie accent, as she looks at him in a bit of surprise. The armored girl points to herself.]

W-who, m-me?

U-uh...[She comes over a bit slowly, her shyness getting the better of her and stopping her about halfway to him, at the fence. She's pretty tall, though her posture's not befitting her frame much.]

A-Ah'm..not real sure...how a-any o'us got here...sorry..

[Hey there! Her accent doesn't go unnoticed and he feels a slight kinship with her instantly]

Same thin' than me, right? Wakin' up in a place you don' recognize and hearin' a voice talking about a Mess Hall. Overall a confusin' mornin'.

[Thankfully for Mac, Nephenee doesn't come from a time and place where pink on guys is weird, so she doesn't so much as bat an eyelash at it. It's clothes, albeit a sort she's unfamiliar with. She nods, his strong accent subconsciously making her less skittish about hers .]

Y-yeah. Ah ain't never seen some o'this sorta stuff before...like this lil' box...

[She fetches her 'handbook' out of a small pouch on her back of her hips.]

Like, Ah ain't gotta clue what this is...

Oh, that! I checked it earlier. It's a device to know who else is in the camp.

[The armor makes some quiet, metallic noises as she tilts her head.]

[Judging by her face, she's utterly baffled by the terms he's using. Sorry Mac. Might as well be using Latin.]

Um, yeah. This [He shows his own ESH] I don' really know how it's possible but it seems easy to use.

She looks at it, nodding as she presses the button. Her eyes widen a little.]

Wow... This is some sorta magic!
