WEEK 5
WEEK 5
[In a move that nobody could've seen coming, three students have died. Ashley Blair, Yomiel Schrodinger and Clair Tarasque have all been slain by traps worthy of Professor Ratigan himself., leaving a grim curtain of despair washed over the camp.As usual, the campers have been left with a golden key to take them to the next world. The Lethal Lava Land - don't burn yourself out there.
This is the final stretch, Smashers. The date is October 26th, and Halloween draws ever closer. But don't expect things to get easy from here. In fact, things are about to getway crazier. ]
[ooc: Due to the close proximity of the endgame, we have decided to end the Weekly Check-In. However, despite this, we still highly encourage you to stay active and ensure that your character has a constant presence.
This will be the last week characters will be able to investigate the camp. Due to this, the last world's area is rather sparse. We absolutely encourage you to hit up any previous worlds, if possible.]

MONDAY
Monobear’s daily special is a tray of edible chocolate gears. It's like some kind of weird steampunk thing, right?]
no subject
[MONOBEAR CAN U NOT. Hinawa's replacement special is yummy shepherd's pie.]
B- Library
[Still with no leads on the mysterious notebook, Hinawa tucks it under her arm and heads for the library to look for any more clues as to its owner. She ducks to avoid another flying bat-book as she enters.]
C- Gallery
[And, since she hasn't visited it yet, Hinawa decides to check out the gallery and be impressed by all the... wait, a gallery's supposed to have art, right? Why all the empty pedestals? Weird.]

News day!
[Early risers might notice something...odd. A table has been moved from the mess hall and set up with a drape, purple lined with a shade of pink friends of a certain squid should recognize, and a pair of speakers have been set up next to it. If you're curious, maybe you should ask the devil currently testing the equipment?]
B) Mess Hall, Mid-Morning
[As those less inclined to run for breakfast as soon as the mess hall opens trundle in, the sound of muffled tapping blares from the speakers by Alastor's makeshift stage. The demon himself is standing in the middle of it, holding a microphone, and looks like he has something to say. Adn the speakers will make sure everyone hears it.]
We missed news day last week, but that's alright, because I've got a special message for everyone left. I know, that's not as many as we'd hoped, but that doesn't mean it's time to give up.
No, what it means is, it's time to stop waiting around for the bear to make a mistake. It's time to stop wandering around and acting like a bunch of people instead of like a group. It's time for us to come together as a team, regardless of what you think you can...or can't...contribute. Whether it's taking an active role or just keeping morale up and making sure we don't burn ourselves out, every single person here has a role they can play.
After this weekend's horror show, there's a new area available. It's sparse, mostly lava. Luckily, it's not as hot as you would think...and if you're injured, I'd suggest braving it anyway. We finally have some decent medical supplies, after the bear's done his best to keep us without them.
Not that we should let this stop us from looking through previous areas. I'm sure there's things we haven't discovered yet, things that could help us. I know I, for one, plan on turning this entire camp upside down this week, along with anyone who wants to help me.
We don't know what the bear has in store for us tomorrow, but I hope we all learned from Yomiel's mistake that the worst thing we can do is think that we're alone. So everyone, get to know any of your fellow campers you aren't familiar with yet, and remember...stay fresh!
A
But it was morning, and tea was a necessity.
He spots his friend doing... something weird. He sets his tea out to steep before he hovers nearby, watching.
Nope. He can't figure out what he's doing.]

There won't be all week. The previously filled or expired ones have only been taken down for the sake of tidiness, but the bulletin board regardless remains uncharacteristically devoid of Elizabeth's usual overeager presence.]
A.
[After removing all her requests though, she's gone to the new world.
She doesn't fear the lava fountain in the slightest. If anything, she probably would have found it delightful a few weeks ago, and would have likely added something about it to her requests for the sake of "research". But not now.]
Please stay back, Roc. No use to risk you becoming "Lucky Fried Chicken".
[...trust me you didn't have to tell a cucco that twice. Also fried chicken is not very lucky chicken at all!
Eventually she finds the door.
Time to check this out.]
B.
[Later, if you are seeking her out you can find her alone by the pokemon center.
Her tome is once again open, but this time she's not looking through it. She's staring at a single page.
Almost like it's out of longing.]

Namely, there's a little pile of blankets and various pillows you'd get out of the Monomono Machine there.

He decided to at least check out the new area because he felt like he had to, but seeing a person under all the blankets was enough to shake him out of the shock. (And maybe he screamed a little too.)]
U-um... are you okay? Oh gosh please tell me you are...

TUESDAY
MOTIVE: Shadow Bugged
His grin widens, and he motions towards the large screen mounted on the wall. The camper's loved ones, still strung up under the moon, flail helplessly and uselessly underneath the giant object. Monobear snaps his fingers, and suddenly, they all EXPLODE.
...But, wait. That's not blood. That's no gore. It's some sort of...purple substance, which all seems to reform in a puddle underneath where those loved ones once hung. Swiftly, the substance begins to...move. It's almost made up of hundreds of purple balls, and the campers are not able to get a good look at it before it disappears, but one thing is clear: they have been duped about their loved ones.
Suddenly, the screen changes. It's the Trophy Garden down in the Hiking Trail. 7 trophies stand there, each mockingly depicting a moment of death.
The purple substance appears, and suddenly, each of the trophies is COVERED in the stuff. It's only seconds later when the blobs come off and begin to reform on the ground that Monobear's game becomes clear. The blobs slowly begin to rise up into familiar-yet terrifying shapes, and eventually, become fully-formed. Though they have a constant purple tint, a purple aura, and glowing yellow eyes...it's obvious who they are.
The Shadow Bugs have become the 7 students lost to Monobear's deadly game.]
Do you see what you bastards make me do? Maybe if you had started killing more often, this wouldn't be happening! These lovely little Shadow Bugs have taken on the role of your little friends, and are going to be bringing about havoc for the rest of the week, unless you finally get up off your sorry loser butts and KILL SOMEONE!
[There's a cackle. It's unhinged, almost to the point of being worrying, and Monobear is sucked into the trap door.]
(OOC: FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK ONLY, YOUR CHARACTERS WILL BE TAGGED BY SHADOW BUG VERSIONS OF THE LOST STUDENTS. These deadly beings are capable of a great deal of things - most notably shapeshifting, and are 100% there to terrorize you. They ignore all school rules, and will often be found breaking camp property and are capable of making their way inside students' cabins. They will not vanish until there has been a murder.

[Horribly twisted eldritch dead friends be damned, she's still going to cook for everyone. She decides on chicken and veggie stir fry because it involves a frying pan, one she could possibly defend herself with if need be.]
B- The cabins
[Hinawa has an idea.
Still armed with a frying pan just in case, she tends to her memorial garden. She, unfortunately, has three more seeds to plant. Ashley's seed is placed next to Pittoo's, and two for Yomiel and Claire are planted next to each other as well. Then, she sits back, and waits.
If these...things... were really her friends, then maybe, just maybe, she could talk sense into them. Show them the garden, and remind them that they are remembered, and loved.]

[It's really about time they got serious about finding out what's behind the trap door in the mess hall. There's no prybars or climbing equipment, but there is one place he suspects he can find something sturdy enough to use.
With a solid branch in hand in case of shadow imposters, Alastor looks through the cold storage room. Specifically looking for empty meat hooks.]
B) Mess Hall
[A branch is a workable substitute for a sword, but the bark makes swinging it painful. So once he's done fiddling around with meat hooks, he takes some time in the mess hall to take a paring knife to his club, stripping away the bark before setting about carving an edge into one side. Bandages from the Pokemon center form a grip, although he finds himself momentarily at a loss as to what to use for a guard. Maybe someone can offer suggestions?]
C) Around Camp
[Turns out, the wooden sword isn't just for defending himself. Once it's complete enough to use, the devil sets out. For now, he's not doing as much searching as he'd quite planned...or at least, not searching for clues. What he is on the lookout for is any of those shadow imposters harrassing his fellow campers.]

N-NEWS DAY???
Since that sure is a familiar table outside. A sheet rests atop it; the very same that once decorated the table during Callie's news segments. But what once held happy squids and other cheery things was replaced with a giant Monobear face and several stick figures getting brutally set on fire, among other things.
And standing atop it? Are two familiar faces.]
Hold onto your arms!
And we do mean both kinds, for those who like to bear them!
Because, back by popular demand, it's none other than the squidol herself: Callie!
And her beautiful guest idol: Clair!
And we're here with the camp news!
[They both pause for a moment, as if music should be playing, but nothing happens. Then a moment later they continue on.]
Did you see? The new world is made of lava! Literally!
Oh, I heard about that! Seems like a really killer place to be. Speaking of which, now there's a hot idea! I bet if you offed someone there, the body would never be found!
That's still waaaaay better than having everyone find you in an embarrassing state. And hey, maybe the murderer will get away with it if all the evidence burns up in the lava!
Wouldn't that be something! But hey, if they botch it up, the Pokémon Center's stocked with plenty of Burn Heals! No doubt Alastor will be going there often, if his trainer skills are as bad as his leadership skills! Which they probably are!
Oh, no doubt. He must be going deaf as well as senile, too. He didn't even hear me screaming for help! That, or he just didn't care enough to get out of bed.
Tell me about it. He's so insensitive, too! All I wanted was to die in peace, but he just had to go and run his mouth. Did he seriously think he could change my mind! Ha, what a moron! I bet he can't even change his underwear! Though from the looks of things, he'll have plenty of help. You should've seen how he acted with Nephenee during your trial!
Ooooh, it sounds like you have some gossip! Do share!
Well, I don't want to get too deep into this, but let's just say there was definitely some base-stealing going on. Even Monobear was scandalized!
Oooo, how juicy! But we're just about out of time, so we'll have to save the details until next week.
And there will be a next week! And many weeks afterward, too, unless someone decides to get their murder on. But until then, remember...

No shadow buggies at A please
[After the Shadow bugs are revealed and start terrorizing things, Nephenee marches back to her cabin, some plans formulating in her head. They need to stay together, but she doesn't want the shadows finding out about it quicker than they should. They need to come up with ideas, and ways to defend themselves.
So at some point, there are hand-delivered, hand-addressed and written letters slipped under all the remaining campers' doors. They read thusly:
Hey, [The camper's name is here],
Due to all the purple dastards tryin' to 'cause trouble an' hurt folks, Ah'm havin' a sleepover in my cabin. That way we can all be somewheres safe for the night, an' can come up with plans for stuff. Tryin' to get everyone there by Night Time, so please come before then. Food'll be provided, of course.
Don't talk 'bout this too loud, though. I don't want Monokuma findin' out early, neither.
Stay safe,
Nephenee
And true to her word, she's put out food and blanket and whatever else she could get a hold of for the nights to come. Now just gotta wait for the others.]
B)
[After she's done getting things ready, Nephenee decides she's going to do some exploring...She's going to try to check the arcade (or what's left of it), the library, and the gallery today. Gallery first!]
C, technically available all week)
[Not terribly far from Hinawa's garden, there's another springing up, to use the colloquial. It's full of flowers already, but they're different from Hinawa's. Namely, the vast majority of them, taking up a good quarter of the plot, are marigolds, what some might call French ones, actually. But she knows them as Crimean Marigolds, and she's very happy to have found some here. The rest of the plot is other assorted flowers, but there's one patch bare next to the marigolds...
Currently, she's working on the garden, singing a little as she does.]

WEDNESDAY
Monobear’s daily special is contained under a set of boxes. When one lifts up the box, they'll find one of the ghost cookies from last week - randomly either intact or broken in half. Wow. That's. Not subtle at all.]

but she sets out regardless, her grimoire permanently in her arms in case she needs to use it. shadows have never been a thing she fears and she certainly won't fear them now.
for now she's here in the kitchen to fix herself something simple to eat.
later she can be found in the store, scavenging what's there for anything that may be useful in the future.]

[As much as he hates the cold, Shadow needs to get back to the lab. What was a copy of Eggman's lab doing here? Was it like the Pumpkin Hills? Were all the fixtures of this strange camp transplanted from elsewhere? It's warm enough in the lab, so Shadow removes his sweater.
There had to be some more clues in the lab. He needs to investigate thoroughly.]
B
[... but first he has to get there. Which involves traversing worlds 1 and 2, alone. Wow, he couldn't possibly be a target for any shadowbugs. But he is armed! With a rock (or a meat hook, if he and Alastor manage to free one from the meat locker). A rock besides his Chaos Emerald, which he also has.
He's a 'hog on a mission, and he skates quickly]

THURSDAY
Monobear’s daily special is a lovely Witch's Brew. Despite the name, it actually tastes rather delicious. Not too bad.]

[Well... this is kind of terrifying and not weather that should happen normally. Luigi ponders just how much power the person controlling Monobear is. Well, thankfully his Poltergust has a flashlight attachment to it so he doesn't have to stumble about until he gets to the Camp Store.
Well, he might as well try to do some exploring today so he goes to check out the garage to see if there's anything unusual about the place.]
B Library
[Well... in any case even with the weird light thing going on it couldn't really hurt to catch up on reading. Reading is nice during the nighttime anyway. He's just going to... grabs some books that look interesting and hope that nothing weird or bad happens to him.]
