[This morning, it seems like the world should have ended, but if anyone wakes up early enough or just (quite understandably) couldn’t sleep… well… they’ll see four giant Monobears catching the falling moon and pushing it back up into the sky.

That sure is a thing that happened, but it seems to have happened before touching the ground. That’s a good thing, right?

...Unfortunately, there might be something a little wrong. For one, there’s no music playing on the loudspeakers… which kind of leaves an unsettling stillness hanging in the air.

Maybe it’s best to check around the camp to make sure everyone’s alright.]

I dunno. And the fire's too big to be put out...

Uh, maybe there's something you can used to pull it out? Like a stick or something?

[There are a few sticks around, but they seem to be a bit small for it. They're mostly used for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, so.]

[Clair looks around, frowning.]

None of these seem long enough to reach. Besides, they'd probably burn up before they even got to whatever it is.

[But if they don't hurry, whatever's in there might burn up completely and they could lose evidence. What can they use?

...I have an idea. I don't really like it, but we haven't got much time to waste. [She pulls out a Pokéball and activates it.] Salamence, let's go!

[Clair tosses her Pokéball into the air and out comes her dragon, looking as energetic as ever.]

...A dragon. You have a giant lizard dragon in your little...?

[Ugh, he's not going to ask about it. Things are weird enough. MOVING ON.]

So, uh, is it resistant to fire?

Yes. The dragon-type is resistant to fire, but more importantly his scales are resilient. I wouldn't ask him to do this if I thought he'd be in danger.

[Turning to her dragon companion.]

Alright, Salamence. See that object in the flames? I need you to retrieve it for us. You've only got one shot at this, so don't drop it. Otherwise it might get damaged.

[Letting out a loud roar, the beast nods and plunges into the flames to retrieve the object as a guitar riff kicks in and lightning begins to strike.]

[and the salamence comes in the nIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT.

Anyway, the object looks kind of burninated, but it appears to be some kind of fancy pole or staff.]

What is that, a giant stick? Why is it...oh. Wait.

[Is that what he thinks it is?]

...Didn't that angel kid have something like this?

I...believe so, but...do you really think it was him? Someone could have stolen it.

Yeah...and it was probably the murder weapon, maybe. Why else would it be burning like this?

It could be a set up, to throw us off track from the real murder weapon. Though I doubt there's any blood on it after all that.

I highly doubt that. The thing's pretty burnt up, so any evidence is probably gone by now. Either way, it was in the fire for a reason...

That much is obvious. Now if only we could find out why.

[There are a few reasons, but not enough data to piece everything together.]

...well, whichever reason it is, bringing it to the others seems like a good idea. Think it will last the trip?

[At this point, it has burned to the point where it's virtually unrecognizable. Very little else about it appears to be noteworthy.]
