Ashley left this note in my mailbox yesterday morning. She wanted me to go with her to the computer room, but I didn't see it until it was too late. It doesn't seem like she knew about the secret laboratory, either.

So... so that must-a meant that all the notes on our doors were only put up after she... you know... right?

That doesn't make sense. Why would she have a perfectly intact note, then? If what I heard is true, she had it on her...

And what would be the point in putting up notes on our doors after the murder was done?

I don't know, m-maybe we're-a thinking about this the wrong way?

Or she woke up earlier than the rest of us and saw it first?

But if she tried to send you a note, wouldn't she have-a noticed the other notes and realized that the person tried to send it to everyone?

Well, maybe she didn't check? Also, it happened early in the morning, according to the Monobear File. Maybe it was too dark to see the other notes.

Also, the note isn't addressed specifically to her.

Are you suggesting someone might have planted it, Yomiel?

I don't know, honestly. But why would she just randomly go to the computer lab on her own if it was planted...?

Maybe she thought it'd lead to something. Ashley had a bad habit of spying on people.

Though...is it possible the note was put there after she died?

To throw us off the scent? Maybe, but I don't think there'd be any benefit they couldn't get by giving her the note in the first place.

...Though, I wonder. It's possible the other notes were deliberately illegible to make sure only one person followed them while making it look more like a legitimate offer of help.

I...guess it's possible. But wouldn't the printer need to be tampered with in order to get such a result?

Probably wouldn't be that hard. Just mess up the ink cartradges a bit...

Did you guys find a printer that could've made the notes? If you did, did you check to see if anything was wrong with it?

What's a printer look like?

Like, uh, a big box, I guess? It has a slot where you ca put paper in, and a slot where printed pages come out of.

Oh, there was one of those in the computer lab.

Okay, and did you see anything wrong with it? Was it broken or tampered with?

Would've if I'd known there was anything important about it aside from the fact that we have one.

Does it help that I found copies of those notes behind the printer?

At least try to walk her through it. You're good with computers; it shouldn't be hard for someone of your talent.

[This is the look of a man who's been through so many similar situations that it isn't even funny. The number of times people have tried to make him explain the simplest things about computers is too many to count.]

[He lets out a frustrated sigh.]

...Okay, fine, I'll try. But this is a person who didn't even know what rain was, I don't know how much she could understand.

She probably left four-thirty at the latest. I can imagine it being dark enough for a human to not be able to see a note on a door. And even if she did notice it, it'd take some direct comparison to tell it's the same note.
