[Well, well, well! A week into the Smash Life of Mutual Killing and nobody's decided to shed blood yet. It's not exactly pleasant news for your friendly Coach, and believe me, he's not gonna like all this unbridled optimism going on. After everybody's met on Sunday and gathered as much information as they can, it's not like anything bad could happen, right?

Welcome to week 2, Smashers. We're going into Sudden Death.]

Thanks. It probably seems kinda silly, but I'm not really comfortable taking the helmet off around mortals.

[He rubs the back of his neck self-consciously, then looks at the ceiling himself.]

That, or this place is a lot sturdier than we thought. Wouldn't surprise me if he was expecting to be setting off bombs in here.

Well, if it puts your mind at ease, I am not a mortal. I have an indefinite lifespan. But I will respect your privacy.

[he frowns. He wonders if his teleportation distance has shrunk as well. Now that he's clean, he needs to get dry... Time to test it.

Thank god the sink is less than a foot deep. He can get out by himself, at least, and wrap himself in a dry dish towel. He then continues to glare at the ceiling]

The bombs are fairly weak. The concussive force alone should be enough to blow out the windows in here. And our ear drums. Neither has happened.

I more mean...natural creatures. People that aren't fellow demons or somehow associated with them.

[He unplugs the sink so it can drain, then goes back to leaning against the counter.]

And I guess I wouldn't know much about bombs going off indoors...only time I've ever had them used against me before this was definitely outside.

[a nod of understanding. He may be an immortal, but he is... artificial.

He frowns]

I'm quite familiar with bombs in my line of work. When a one explodes inside, there's typically more damage.

The first one singed my wings up, but then I guess it's not hard to burn someone completely mundane. I hate burns...

I avoided damage from the first one, but... [he plucks out one of his quills, and it's singed] I was closer, this time.

Maybe it's more heat than concussive force? Makes you wonder why nothing caught fire, though, if it's enough to leave marks that quickly.

There are different kinds of bombs. It's possible the "Monobear" explodes with more thermal energy than your typical bomb. Curious that it leaves no shrapnel. But hey, nothing else around here seems to obey the laws of physics, so why the hell not.

...No shrapnel, huh? Think it's possible that his bodies are magical constructs? It'd explain how they just appear and vanish like that.

[chaoscontrol]

That's also a possibility. Magic is... not my forte.

It's a specialty of mine, but with my powers sealed, I can't even sense it.

[He shakes his head.]

I don't know how humans manage with such weak senses.

[chaoscontrol]

Hard to miss what you've never had, I suppose.

I guess. I just can't help feeling a bit vulnerable. I'm used to being a lot more aware of my surroundings.

[chaoscontrol]

I feel the same way...

If I just had my powers, it would be so much easier to find out how that bear is doing all this. I could break that trapdoor apart with my bare hands...

If I had all my powers, we wouldn't even have to mess with the trap door. I could use Chaos Control and warp us all out of here.

Oh, getting us out of here would be easy. Teleporting's one of my signature spells.

But what kind of hero would I be if I just let someone like Monobear go?

[chaoscontrol]

You mean the one controlling it. Or the ones. The more that happens here, the more I am convinced it's not a single person who did all this, but a group. A group using that stupid ridiculous robot as a mouthpiece.

One, ones. Every individual involved in making this sick 'tournament' happen.

And I'm not discounting the idea of the bear being autonomous, either. There's definitely someone else involved, but he could well be an active accomplice.

[chaoscontrol]

I have met plenty of autonomous robots in my time, but many more are under the control of someone... Regardless, he's clearly involved.
