Oh, maybe that explains why the rope looked really weathered then? It was from before Monobear emptied out that area?

But that means they would've had to have gotten it before we got here.

...I don't think I can ever remember seeing the climbing gear, honestly. It's like Monobear's just taunting us or something.

...huh. Yeah, I don't know. I wasn't looking too hard for it because climbing gear is the least fashionable thing in the world, so maybe I just don't remember it being there...?

Maybe not very stylish, but useful. It's also strange that the victim was someone from a previous group of students. Did you know this guy?

Oh, yeah, everybody liked Goombriel. He wasn't super confident, but he had his heart in the right place.

Yeah... he was. It was some pretty messed up stuff.

[He produces the old boots he found in the camp store and puts them in clear sight.]

Yeah, definitely. Those were Karl's boots, all right. ...Uh, Big Karl, not Little Karl.

Yeah, I think if people actually managed to get out of this kinda thing, the jig would be up. It definitely hasn't happened yet, though.

We.... kind of ended up with like, three people left? When one of them dropped dead, it was pretty easy to figure out who did it.

So since no one could become "champion," I was just kind of stuck here.

Oh, the last other two? It was down to me, Violet, and Little Karl. Little Karl's the kind of guy that will steal anything not nailed down, so he kind of... stole one of Violet's wrenches at the wrong time. Yeaaah, that was a pretty short trial.

...Yeah, I don't know? I didn't find anything that would make me think there was one before mine, but I don't know. Maybe Monobear cleaned up that one a little better.
