Camp Monobear and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

[Elizabeth is not much one to get emotional, not a whole lot phased her even in the light of this camp's... everything. She hadn't been close to Callie or anything either, though she'd been fond of her. But as nightfall crept closer she continued to feel uneasy.

And she knew everyone else would be feeling much, much worse.

So taking a cue from Luigi last week, she set out to writing some notes:]


Hello,

This week I will be the one to bring snacks to the bonfire.
It seemed to have been beneficial last week, so I believe it is in best interests to continue it.
If you wish please feel free to join whenever you like.

And whether you come or not
Please remember to stay fresh.

[To be honest she had debated whether it was in her place or not to add that last part, especially so soon after Callie's passing and, after all, she was not close to her. But she had always been a fan of the whole concept of "fresh" after the Squidol had introduced her to it... so it only seemed right. Hopefully it just wasn't salt to any wounds...

Sure enough there are snacks brought to the bonfire, just as much variety as last time. Elizabeth thought it was best to be thorough (she also wanted to eat a bit of everything). In addition, there are also paper plates with recognizable sketches of Mac, Pitoo and Callie set out on stakes, courtesy of Alastor. They both have a marshmallow on each, and you are free to leave anything you'd like as well. (Betrayus meanwhile, gets a grand total of jack, fuck and all.)]

[Unlike last week, Alastor isn't late to the party. But though he's fully awake, he's still not his usual self. He sits by the fire, not far from the plates, with a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. He's frowning at the bonfire, and the way his tail is swishing seems to imply agitation. But surely that doesn't mean he doesn't want company, right?]

[...well actually. That's a lie. Betrayus does get something.

Elizabeth made a point of snagging as much of what was left of his spare outfit as possible before leaving the court room. The jacket seemed in bad taste, as did the gloves, so if she managed to get any of those they were promptly thrown in the fire.

...The pants though.

This is how we got to Elizabeth currently climbing the camp loud speaker and trying to tie them up there like a flag.]

Hmm... this would be more effective if I had some of those "undies" instead, wouldn't it...

[oh well, she's going to do her darnedest to humiliate his memory anyway, even if death isn't an issue for him.]

[Eventually she settles back down by the fire, looking through her grimoire as she snacks on a few carrot sticks.

...Come to think of it, even though she carries it around 80% of the time, she's never opened it in public before huh? Wonder what sort of pictures are in there...]

[Did someone mention needing Betrayuys' undies? Because Clair rolled a pair. It was tempting to just toss them in the fire, but after seeing Elizabeth... She's got an idea.]

A pair of them came out of that strange machine about a week ago. You can hang them up, if you want.

[Someone's being a wallflower this time around.]

[Yomiel's not really joining the "party" this time around. Instead, he hangs on the outside, his face expressionless as he watches the event.]

[The plates annoy him. When he died, no one was there to honor his memory. No one was there to miss him. Except for her...but, well, that didn't last very long, did it?]

[But he's here, alive, and he's just going to have to deal with all of these murder shenanigans until he finds a way out and live his life the way he wants to.]

[Having been around Laguz long enough to know irritated tail twitches, Nephenee notices that, and can't help coming over.]

[He jumps a little, not having expected anyone to come bother him. Not after...]

N-Nephenee? Yeah, I'm...uh. Well, I'm familiar enough with grief to know I'll be alright eventually, at least.

[Ashley actually manages to show up to one of these things. For once, really. It's partially because she needs to show up after looking really suspicious during that trial, and partially because, as much as she hates to admit it, she sort of cared about Callie.

These are the real issues.

You might find her either eating some veggie straws by the fire, or staring at the plates with a curious expression. She doesn't actually go out of her way to approach most people, however.]

[Hinawa is here, but she's certainly not in a party mood. Maybe even less so than last week. Mac, Pittoo, Callie... all bright, energetic youths that she failed to protect. Betrayus... even though she knows now that it was a ruse, all she can think about was how nice and normal he seemed when they chatted at the concert. And then the trial happened.

She should feel better, shouldn't she? He was a murderer- no, worse than that, he was a child murderer. They brought him to justice, didn't they? They did the right thing, didn't they?

Upupupu... boy, it sure warms the cockles of my black and white little heart to see everyone so full of killing intent!

Try as she might, she can't get Monobear's words out of her head. For a brief moment it wasn't about justice for Callie, it was about making Betrayus suffer, punishing him. Killing intent... was she really capable of that? The thought made her blood run cold, and even in the warmth of the fire, she hugged herself.]

[Lon'qu is probably not the best person to be approaching anyone. There's a reason he didn't even bother going to the previous post-trial gathering, after all. Still, he's here now. Might as well...

So he goes over to Hinawa. Well, with enough distance between them still, since it's him and all.]

You seem troubled.

[Well he hadn't chatted too much with Hinawa but... well right now he wanted to be near someone who was nice. Besides, she looks like she needs company too right now.]
